Thank you to everyone who made the Cutlass Challenge: Last Person Standing on Saturday, April 25, 2026, such an unforgettable experience.
To every participant—your grit, determination, and willingness to push beyond your limits defined the spirit of this race. Watching you head out for each loop, again and again, was nothing short of inspiring. The Last Person Standing format creates a unique kind of challenge, and it gave me the rare opportunity to truly get to know many of you along the way—your stories, your motivations, and the quiet strength you carried into every lap. That connection is something I will always value.
To our incredible friends, co-race directors, volunteers, donors, the trail steward, and the city of McKinney —this event simply would not exist without you. Your energy, encouragement, and dedication kept the race moving and lifted runners when they needed it most. You created an atmosphere that was supportive, welcoming, and full of heart.
On a personal note, this race holds a special place in my journey. I began running at Erwin Park eight years ago, not knowing where the path would lead. With the support of so many amazing people, I completed my solo 100-mile run for my children, Reagan and Grant, at Erwin. It has since become the home of our Love Never Ends Trail Series races, and each event brings new meaning to that space.
This year’s Cutlass Challenge reminded me exactly why we do this. It’s about more than miles—it’s about community, perseverance, and shared moments that stay with you long after the race is over.
Your participation and generous donations make a meaningful impact—helping The Great Root Movement Nonprofit provide vital resources to bereaved moms, domestic abuse survivors, and first responders, as well as fund high school scholarships in Reagan and Grant’s memory, all while empowering others to see the impossible and cross their own finish lines.
My heart is full. Thank you all for being part of something truly special.
Love. Move. Rize.,
Karen A. Sparks
